To live dangerously

I have this pet idea that a man ought to do what he can to make himself as dangerous as possible. This comes from the traditional notion that men play the role of the protector. My pet idea is just a natural conclusion because in order to be a good protector, a man has to be able to pose a threat to other potential dangers. Thus, a man needs to be capable of threatening and causing harm to enemies, which is also known as being dangerous.
Since there are physical, intellectual, and spiritual dangers in the world, it is prudent (and a duty) for a man to acquire strength, knowledge, and prayer.
Related to this idea, I think about how my life so far has been risk-avoidant and thus feels fake and boring. Accepting worthy risks means having faith in God and striving to acquire real consequences for your performance.
